Potential Influence of Shading in Freshwater Ponds on the Water Quality Parameters and the Hematological and Biochemical Profiles of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus Linnaeus, 1758)

چکیده

Nile tilapia is a high-demand commodity in most developing countries including the Philippines, but its production hampered by fluctuating water temperature (WT) and dissolved oxygen (DO) concentrations, which are mostly influenced warming. Net shading has been demonstrated to reduce pond increase rate of spawning cultured tilapia. The current study aimed investigate potential effects on quality parameters, blood indices, serum biochemical profiles Fish were collected from unshaded (control) shaded (experimental) ponds three breeding cycles. WT DO concentrations measured, while hematological analyses performed. results showed that average was considerably decreased with no significant difference concentrations. Red cells, hemoglobin, lymphocyte counts significantly lower fish raised ponds, although mean corpuscular volume neutrophil higher. Likewise, Chole, TP, Alb values affected interaction cycle setup. Cortisol, Glb, K+, Cl−, Mg2+, TCa differences only cycle. Similarly, AST ALT both Water parameters (WT DO), variables correlated positively each other. In brief, prior data imply net can aquaculture stress tilapia, lessen consequences warming species production.

Biomarkers in Nile Tilapia Oreochromis niloticus niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758) to Assess the Impacts of River Nile Pollution: Bioaccumulation, Biochemical and Tissues Biomarkers

The use of biomarkers has become an important tool for modern environmental assessment as they can help to predict pollutants involved in the monitoring program. Here I present data on bioaccumulation, biochemical and tissues biomarkers in Nile tilapia as early warning indicators of river Nile pollution. Nile tilapia sampled from downstream sites accumulated higher levels of all the detected he...

INFLUENCE OF WATERBORNE CADMIUM ON THE GROWTH AND IMMUNE-PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF NILE TILAPIA (Oreochromis niloticus)

Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (65.2±2.2 g) were randomly distributed into 12 glass aquaria to represent 4 treatments (3 replicates per treatment). Fish were exposed to cadmium chloride at concentrations of 0.0 (control), 0.05 (T1), 0.10 (T2) and 0.15 mg L -1 (T3) for 4 weeks. After the first, third and fourth week, fish were immediately anesthetized and blood was collected. Fish weight wa...

Invasive potential of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in American freshwater systems

Nonnative fish introductions disrupt ecosystem processes and can drive native species to local extinction. Two of the most widespread, introduced species are the common carp (Cyprinus carpio) from Eurasia and the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from Africa. In North and South America, these introductions stem from aquaculture facilities, as well as historical introductions for recreational...
